PLANNING, RESEARCH AND STATISTICS DEPARTMENT
MANDATE AND MISSION
The mandate and the mission of the Department is to make available timely, accurate and up-to-date data/information and the development of discrete analytical decision packages which will aid sound executor policies by the Institute and consequently the overall policy of government towards health care delivery through regulated analytical services.
GLOBAL ROLES
The Planning, Research and Statistics department is responsible for Planning, both short and long term, and coordinate researches. The department also has the mandate to collaborate with organisations, both local and International, and assists the Institute in the area of training and workshops.
SCHEDULE OF ACTIVITIES
• Preparation of annual budgets and rolling plans in collaboration with other departments
• Develop work plans (short, medium and long term) in collaboration with other departments for implementation of the Institute’s mandate
• Undertake and coordinate research programmes through routine collection and processing of Data and Statistics relating to operations of the Institute
• Liaising with Regulatory bodies and Industries such as NAFDAC, SON, NESREA, CPC etc through Analytical standard policies and through laboratory analysis with the view to improve the well being of consumers
• Monitoring and Evaluation development programmes which include: Staff training, workshops, seminars and conferences
• Maintain records of approved development plans, projects and budgets of the Institute and their implementation time
• Management of the Institute’s information system through the Information and Communication Technology (ICT)
• Computerization of the Institute, this include setting up and maintaining a network backbone linking all offices in the six geo-political zone as a wide Area Network, managing records of information resources of the office (Computer services, Data Bank, Website etc).
